Kishanganj, Jan 16 (UNI) Accolades have come from unexpected quarters for the 15-month-old NDA-government in Bihar, led by Nitish Kumar.

Former Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) chief Rafique Alam said the overall political and economic scenario was surely changing in the state, adding the government still needed greater elbow room as far as the law and order situation was concerned.

Md Alam during his recent visit to Kishanganj said time had come for the Congress to snap its ties with the RJD in the state and try to come on its own.

He termed the Congress' alliance with the RJD being a ''concubine'' and alleged that the state had suffered incalculably during the 15-year RJD rule.

He advised the party top-brass to sever any kind of political alliance in UP and asked it to fight on its own.

After the Nithari serial killings, not only the Mulayam Singh Yadav government was on the backfoot, but had also lost its moral authority to rule the state, he said.
