Chile minister inaugurates NGN lab in Bangalore
Bangalore, Jan 16: Chile Trade and Commerce Minister Alejandro Ferreiro today inaugurated Mascon Global Limited (MGL)'s Next Generation Networks (NGN) lab at its centre here.
Addressing a press conference after inaugurating the lab, he said he was on a week-long visit to India to woo the Indian IT industries to set up offices in Chile, a business hub in Latin America and the United States.
The foreign dignitary said he was on a Private-Public mission to strengthen the Information Technology sector in Chile. ''Chile has already signed MoUs with Singapore, the US, China and shortly will be signing one with Japan. We want to increase the footmark of Indian IT industry in Chile,'' he added.
MGL Chairman Sandy Chandra said ''our vision is to be a billion dollar organisation by 2010. We have planned several technology initiatives in order to realise our vision and NGN is one of them.
NGN will help in developing end-to-end cost-effective solutions for core networks, access networks and terminal equipment. This will also enable to develop applications to serve enterprise communication requirements.'' Stating that MGL already had its presence in Chile, he said Chile would be one of the strategic locations for MGL to serve the Americas. The company was committed to building a strong customer base in Chile and Latin America in the areas of Consulting, IT and Telecom services along with healthcare, e-governance, e-education and e-commerce.
''We are exploring the possibilities of setting up a near shore centre in Chile in the near future,'' he added.
