Bomb kills four, wounds 10 in central Baghdad
BAGHDAD, Jan 16 (Reuters) A roadside bomb killed four people, including two policemen, and wounded ten more in central Baghdad today, police said.
Police had succeeded in defusing one roadside bomb near a communications centre in the Karrada district when the second bomb exploded, killing two police and two civilians. Three police were among the ten people wounded.
Bombs, mortar attacks and sectarian death squads are killing hundreds of people every week. The government has announced a major new security plan for Baghdad that aims to stem the tide of violence with the help of US troop reinforcements.
