BJP voices concern over delimitation recommendations
Patna, Jan 16(UNI) Bihar BJP today expressed serious reservations over the certain recommendations of the delimitation commission and said the party would formally submit suggestions on January 25 to make it broadly acceptable.
Talking to reporters here, state BJP president Radha Mohan Singh said that contrary to its earlier assertions, delimitation commission prima facie made three fallacies while recommending for reorganisation of the Assembly and Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.
He said that basic spirit of disturbing the existing administrative units had been not adhered to.
'' Several blocks and other lower level administrative units had been divided which would create a lot of problems for the local people,'' he added.
Mr Singh said several Assembly constituencies had been renamed while no village or police stations really existed with that nomenclature in the area.'' Some historical names like Vaishali which was the ancient seat of democracy did not figure at all in the new list of constituencies recommended by the delimitation commission,'' he added.
He said that the party would take out awareness march from February 4 from the residence of Jai Prakash Narain in Patna which would cover Hajipur, Lalganj, Saraiya, Paru, Deoria, Sahebganj and other places which would culminate in a rally on February 11 in Motihari.'' The party would inform the common man about the indifferent attitude of the centre in providing assistance for the development of the state during the awareness march'' he added.
Similar, rallies and awareness march on the issue would also be organised by the party during the last week of February, he informed.
Earlier, RJD leaders Trilok Chandra jain, Hanuman Prasad Srimal and Santosh Kumar Patel alongwith their supporters accepted the primary membership of the party in presence of deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi and Party MP from Bhagalpur Sushil Kumar Modi.
