AP CM lays foundation stone for 'Textile Park'

Nellore (Andhra Pradesh), Jan 16: Chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today laid the foundation stone for a major Textile park near Chintavaram village in this district. The park would be set-up in 750 acres of land at the cost of Rs 1000 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Reddy said the new textile park was one of the biggest parks in the State, which would provide employment to 75,000 youth directly and indirectly. The Government was also planning to set up a Jute Industry by investing Rs 1700 crore in the next five years in the same district.

Stating that Rs 3,800 crore loan would be distributed to Self Help Groups (SHGs) at the rate of 25 paise interest rate during this year, the Chief Minister said 120 integrated hostels would be established for the weaker section students to pursue further studies.
