9th standard boy commits suicide

Kolhapur, Jan 16 (UNI) A ninth standard schoolboy allegedly committed suicide at city's Rajarampuri area here today.

Police said the deceased, identified as Amol Laxman Pawar(15), was a student of a nearby high school. He was the nephew of city corporator Devappa Pawar.

Amol was alone in a room in the house when the incident took place. When family members went to the room to ask him to get ready for school, they found that he had committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of the house.

The cause of the suicide is yet to be known, police added.
