6 cops suspended for assaulting media group director

Moradabad, Jan 16 (UNI) Six police personnel, including two sub-inspectors, were today suspended for allegedly assaulting Jagran Group Director and Editor Devesh Gupta in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh.

The incident occurred in Manjhola area, when Mr Gupta and his family members were coming to Moradabad from Delhi last evening.

Since the car was having tinted glasses, they were stopped by the police. When Mr Gupta intervened, he and his driver were assaulted by the cops.

Taking cognisance of the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Anand suspended the guilty policemen with immediate effect.
