27 get life term for carnage
Kishanganj, Jan 16 (UNI) A fast track court today awarded life imprisonment to 27 accused in connection with a massacre engineered by them in 1983 at Laxmipur village claiming lives of five tribals.
Two of the convicts were slapped with a fines of Rs 50,000 each, while one was fined Rs 25000.
The Additional district and sessions judge of the fast track court Jhula Nand Jha sentenced all the accused to rigorous life imprisonment after they were found guilty in the case.
According to the prosecution, a strong mob armed with firearms and lethal weapons suddenly pounced on the victims and hacked them to death.
