Aizawl, Jan 15 (UNI) The 190-member Mizo National Front's (MNF) national executive council has unanimously decided that three ministers, including Chief Minister and home minister of Mizoram, will lead the party.

The party insiders said here today that the council has dismissed speculations that the post of the president, vice-president and treasurer, presently held respectively by Chief Minister Zoramthanga, Home Minister Tawnluia and Health Minister R Tlanghmingthanga, would be handed over to non-ministers.

The meeting was held yesterday to discuss replacement of the three elected posts in order to strengthen the party in view of the next assembly elections.

''We had the opinion that the party will perform better with the top posts held by those who do not have duties in the government but finally it was rejected,'' Chief Minister and party supremo Zoramthanga said.

Even though the term of the committee was to be completed by June this year, the party's high command has decided to hold the party election four months earlier for preparations of the next assembly polls.
