Lucknow, Jan 15 (UNI) The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) today said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav should be ready to face the questions of the people before the coming state Assembly elections instead of talking about the party's success.

RLD State General Secretary and spokesperson Anil Dubey here said, ''....SP leaders should think before speaking. The Chief Minister should convey special thanks to the RLD as without their support he would not have been able to come to power in UP,'' he claimed.

''Some RLD Ministers have resigned from the government in protest against the 'marginal' hike in the State Advisory Price (SAP) of sugarcane announced by the CM in the recently-concluded monsoon Assembly session,'' Mr Dubey said.

The government had hiked the SAP to Rs 122 per quintal while the RLD was demanding it at Rs 200 per quintal,'' he added.

On January 9, three RLD Ministers Virendra Singh (Animal Husbandary), Kokab Hamid (Tourism) and Minister of state Swami Omvesh (Cane Development) resigned from the three-year-old government.

Irrigation and Flood Commission Chairperson Anuradha Chaudhury, who is a Lok Sabha member and enjoys the rank of a Cabinet Minister, had also submitted her resignation.
