Gurgaon, Haryana, Jan 15 (UNI) Two police officers, including a 'chowki incharge', were today suspended for showing laxity in investigations in the Manesar serial killer case.

The suspension of Rajender Singh, then 'Chowki Incharge' of Bilaspur Chowki under Manesar police station where the killings took place, and Suraj Mal, the Investigation Officer of the serial killings case, were suspended after submission of the Inspector General's report on the ghastly killings, according to the police.

The report said that instead of properly investigating the initial killings, when they were reported in early 2006, the two had tried to 'portray' them as 'road accidents' which could have otherwise several lives.

Known as the 'Maxicab killings', 29 people were allegedly killed by the accused over an eleven-month period last year, for the purpose of robbing after 'picking' them in their taxi-cab.
