Top HM commander arrested in north Kashmir
Baramulla, Jan 15 (UNI) A top Hizbul Mujahideen commander, allegedly involved in the killing of a Municipal Councilor and ten others, was arrested in north Kashmir last night, official sources today said.
Acting on a specific information, Special Operation Group of the state police conducted a search at Pattan in this district last night and arrested Maqsood Ahmad, a self-styled commander of HM, the sources said.
Maqsood, active in the north Kashmir since 1995, was allegedly involved in the killing of Councillor Ramzan Mian and his two Special Police Officers (SPOs) and seven others, including some police personnel, they added.
The arrest of Maqsood, carrying a reward on his head, was a serious setback to the HM in the area.
