''Sadhu'' arrested for planning to take ''samadhi''

Thane, Jan 14 (UNI) Police have arrested a 20-year-old ''sadhu'' who had bared his intentions of taking ''samadhi''.

Jayesh Kisan alias Parameshwar Baba has been arrested and lodged in the Thane district jail after he refused to apply for bail.

Two of his disciples -- Jagruti Narayan Chowdhar (17) and Yojana Manohar Gharat (24) -- have also been apprehended. The former, being a minor, has been sent to a remand home in Bhiwandi while the latter has been lodged in the Kalyan jail, police said.

After Parameshwar Baba declared his intentions to take ''samadhi'', district collector S S Zende issued a public notice, asking people not to assemble at the site.

Prohibitory orders were promulgated to remain in force till January 24.
