Ramesh stresses on creating market infrastructure to boost trade

Pasighat, Arunachal, Jan 15 (UNI) Union Trade and Commerce Minister Jairam Ramesh today advocated for creating proper market infrastructure to boost trade in the region.

Addressing a meeting with cash crop growers and entrepreneurs in the sideline of the ongoing Siang River Festival here, the Minister while assuring all possible Central assistance in this endeavour stressed on developing market network so that local products and produces could reach outside market.

Suggesting for organizing marketing festival in the line of national expo in different metros to facilitate marketing network and products exposure, Mr Ramesh suggested the state government to send proposals to his ministry for organizing Arunachal Expo in three metros namely Kolkatta, Mumbai and Delhi.

The meeting attended by State by state Chief Minister Geong Apang along with his Cabinet colleaguec and other Business representatives, including Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industrees president Techi Lala.

Stating that Arunachal Pradesh with its vast natural resources has a high potential for horticulture, rubber and medicinal plant cultivation, the Minister advocated for creating medicinal plant cultivation plants exporting zone to boost trade of these species abundant in the state and assured all help in this regard from the Centre.

Earlier, the Minister laid the foundation of the Bamboo Technology Park at Niglok, 40 KM from here. The Minister also visited the village and interacted with the villagers, especially the youths.
