People await to give warm reception to Dalai

Agartala, Jan 15 (UNI) People of Tripura are eagerly awaiting to give a warm reception to Buddhist reglious leader, the Dalai Lama on his maiden visit to the state beginning tomorrow.

All preparations have been completed for the four-day visit of the Noble laureate.

Tripura is the third state in the NE region that he is visiting.

Earlier on a number of occasions, the Dalai Lama had visited Arunachal Pradesh and Asom.

The reason behind the religious leader's visit is to spread the message of peace besides, participating in a number of programmes at Manu Bankul under Sabroom sub-division in south distict, according to official sources.

The exiled religious leader will participate in the establishment of the fifth year of Dhamma Dipa School and lay the foundation stone of the Dhamma Dipa Buddhist Cultural Complex on Wednesday at Manubankul.

The Venuban Buddha Bihar authorities here are busy giving finishing touches as the Tibetan Buddhist religious leader will speak on the teachings on introduction of Buddhism on Thursday.

A number of Buddhists from outside the state as well as abroad, including Chittagong Hill Tracts of neighbouring southern Bangladesh, are expected to come to Manu Bankul.

The Dhamma Dipa School at Manu Bankul and the Venuban Buddha Bihar here have been decorated and illuminated for his visit, Tripura Rajya Bhikhu Sangha sources said.
