N.D, leaves it to High Command to contest poll
New Delhi,Jan 15 (UNI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister N D Tiwari today said he would abide by the Congress High Command's decision whether to constest or not the Assembly elections to be held in the state next month.
"It is the Congress High Command which will decide the matter,"Mr Tiwari said talking to mediapersons after a meeting of the Pradesh Congress Election Committee here.
AICC Treasurer Moti Lal Vora told mediapersons that the Asembly elections in Uttarakhand would be conducted under the leadership of the Chief Minster but whether Mr Tiwari would contest the poll would depend upon the wish of the High Command.
Mr Vora said in the Pradesh Election Committee meeting Mr Tiwari, PCC Chief Harish Rawat and he himself had been authorised to finalise the panel of names of candidates for shortlisting by the Screening Committee.
