Moaists plan new strategies in AP
Hyderabad, Jan 15 (UNI) In order to strengthen its base in Andhra Pradesh, the CPI (Maoist) Party is planning to conduct a study on the people's response to the present Congress government before raising 'anti-people' policies of the government, party sources said.
The leaders were planning to transform the banned organisation into a mainstream alternative people's organisation by raising the issues on separate Telangana, tribal displacement at project sites and land acquisition for Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
Sources said the Maoist party would reconsider its decision on ''violence''. They would deviate from their earlier path of violence to more mainstream path of politics.
State Party leaders lost their interest in pursuing violence as they were facing 'tough opposition' from the state police.
It was said that the party would stop its activities temporarily for six months to one year in the state.
