Mamata a credible NDA ally : BJP

New Delhi, Jan 15 (UNI) Notwithstanding the invitation from Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi to Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee to join the UPA, the BJP today said her party was a 'credible' ally of the NDA and she would not take such 'taunting' Congress invitations seriously.

Retorting to Mr Dasmunsi's invitation, BJP Spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said there have been such invitations by External Affairs Minister Pranab Kumar Mukherjee and also by Mr Dasmunsi and the Trinamool leader was too seasoned to be distracted by such taunts, he said.

"As far as the BJP was concerned, it had extended total support to the Trinamool Congress' fight against unfair land acquisition at Singur and the SEZ project for Salem at Nandigram throughout", he remarked.
