Low key celebrations on Mayawati's 51th birthday

Lucknow, Jan 15 (UNI) BSP today celebrated the 51th birthday of party supremo Mayawati in a low key affair due to the death of arty founder Kanshi Ram.

While, Ms Mayawati would be celebrating the day at New Delhi, she had directed party workers to observe the occasion in a simple manner.

In the Uttar Pradesh capital, BSP workers distributed 51 kgs of 'ladoos' at the busy Hazratganj crossing, while a 51 kg cake would also be cut at Vikasnagar.

Party leaders said the workers had been asked to celebrate the occasion in their respective districts and hightlight to the masses, the ''failures'' of the present Mulayam Singh Yadav government.
