JD Birla institute signs MoU with FACT

Kolkata, Jan 15 (UNI) The J D Birla Institute has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Singapore's FACT Softwares Pte Ltd to introduce FACT as a teaching aid in specialised courses in Financial Management Accounting and IT area for providing hands on training to the students.

As a part of these strategic alliance, FACT would recruit ten students as interns from the Birla Institute and entrust specific marketing projects to them, including conceptualization and execution of innovative and aggressive marketing campaigns, sources said recently.

Professor Suman Mukherjee, Director of Smt J D Birla Institute said, "FACT will add considerable value to our students' professional skills and job prospects and make them ready for the corporate world." Arvind Agarwalla, CEO of FACT said, "the partnership is an exercise to promote threefold interests, of the students, of the company and of the Institute. When we recruit fresh MBAs it takes us months to bring them up to speed. Such a scheme will save all recruiters' time and resources spent in training." FACT Software, a subsidy of Kolkata based Vedika Software Pvt Ltd, recently entered into a similar initiative with the Singapore Management University. Their software is already a part of course curriculum in several institutes in the city like IISWBM, St Xavier's college.
