IB interrogating suspected Naxals

Bhopal, Jan 15 (UNI) After busting an illicit arms factory run by suspected Maoists in Govindpura industrial area here, intelligence officials Bureau and police of a few other states were interrogating the arrested persons.

Police teams from naxal-affected Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra had already arrived here to join the interrogation, while teams from Karnataka, Gujarat, Orissa and Jharkhand were expected soon, Bhopal Range DIG Anuradha Shankar Singh said.

Five people, including a woman, who were detained on January 11 immediately after unearthing of the arms factory in Satnaminagar on a tip-off from Central agencies, have been remanded to police custody till January 25.

Police sources said name plates of senior officials had been removed or camouflaged to avert retaliatory action.

The state police sounded an alert in naxal-affected Mandla, Balaghat, Dindori and Sidhi districts.
