Kashmir: Grenade attack on HC Chairman's house

Srinagar, Jan 15: Unidentified persons fired a rifle grenade towards the house of moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) chairman Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq here today, official sources said.

However, the grenade missed the intended target and exploded in the kitchen garden of the neighbouring house, without causing any damage.

The Mirwaiz was not present in the guarded Nigeen house at the time of the attack.

Senior police and civil officials have rushed to the area.
