Former chief secretary files anticipatory bail

Patna, Jan 15 (UNI) Former Chief Secretary G.S.Kang today filed an anticipatory bail petition before district and sessions judge of Patna in connection with the case relating to irregularities commited in Durgawati water reservoir project in Rohtas district of Bihar.

Judge Mandhata Singh fixed January 16 as the date for hearing the petition.

A complaint was filed by the forest department for violations of various sections of Indian Forest Act 1927, Wild Life Protection Act 1972 and Indian Penal Code.

Former Bihar Water Resources Minister Jagdanand Singh and three senior IAS officers including former development Commissioner G.S.

Kang were made accused in the case. Mr Kang was later promoted to the post of state chief secreatry.
