New Delhi, Jan 15: The BJP has accused the Congress of shedding crocodile tears in the light of killing of children in Nithari village in Uttar Pradesh and it did not dare to demand imposition of President's rule in Uttar Pradesh.

''Kamal Sandesh'', the BJP's mouthpiece in its editorial said the Congress wanted to show that it was concerned but did nothing to withdraw its support to Mulayam Singh government in UP fearing it might rock the UPA government in Delhi. The Congress will not be able to shrug off its responsibility for the wrong doings committed by the UP government supported by it.

The person who committed the ghastly crime was an individual with high political connections in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and UP and his money power had succeeded in cutting short the arm of the law to reach upto him until news channels started blaring about the "butchery" of innocent teen aged children.

The brutal orgy has shocked the nation but the UP Police comitted a sin worste than the actual crime by refusing to file even an FIR and sat over the issue of the missing children.

The Mulayam Singh Yadav government on its part tried to belittle the intensity of the human tragedy when news about the mysterious disappearance of 38 children was broken by a television channel six to eight months ago. Even after the recovery of human bones from the gutters the Chief Minister's younger brother Shivpal Yadav attempted to trivalise the incident as a 'routine small crime'.

''No government should play politics with human skeletons and skulls but it is trying to barter invaluable precious lives. The government first announced a compensation of Rs one lakh for the families but when the heat was unbearable, jacked up the compensation to Rs 500,000, promised jobs and residential plots on a selective basis,'' the editorial said.
