Cong for forming anti-Mulayam Front in UP
New Delhi, Jan 15 (UNI) The Congress today pleaded for formation of an anti-Mulayam Singh Yadav front in Uttar Pradesh to prevent division of secular votes inthe Assembly poll.
"The division of secular votes in the Assembly elections should be minimised," Congress Spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said.
It should be a non-communal front against Mr Mulayam Singh," he said talking to mediaperson here, adding negoitations will take place with parties willing to join such front.
"We cannot force any party to join such a front," he added.
Replying to a question, Mr Singhvi said the Congress had kept its options open about the course of action to be taken against the Samajwadi Party Government.
"Before taking any action we have to take into account all aspects of the issue." About the possibility of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh contesting Parliamentary byelection from Amritsar in the seat vacated by BJP leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, he said "no comment".
