CBI files chargesheet against five police officers

Mumbai, Jan 15 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation today filed chargesheet against five police officers for falsely implicating innocent people in the multi-crore fake stamp-paper scam for extorting money from them.

CBI advocate Pradeep Gharat filed the chargesheet against - Dilip Kamat, Dattaraya Dhal, Juvekar, Agarkar and Bhosale - before the 19th Metropolitan Magistrate at Esplanade court in South Mumbai.

The accused police officers had falsely implicated innocent people by preparing forged documents and false panchanamas to extort money from them.

Those accused have been booked under section 218 (public servant framing incorrect record), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 347 (wrongful confinement to extort property) and other sections of Indian Penal Code.
