Byelection from Tehri Garhwal on Feb 21

New Delhi, Jan 15 (UNI) Polling for byelection to Tehri Garhwal Parliamentary constituency will be held on February 21, the Election Commission said today.

The vacancy was caused due to the death of sitting member Manabendra Shah on January 5. The EC has decided to hold the byelection along with Legislative Assembly constituencies of Uttarakhand.

The issue of notification is January 25 and the last date of filing nominations is February 1. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is February 5 and counting of votes will take place on February 27.

The election process must be completed by March 2, said the EC.
