BJP President to come to Manipur for elections campaigning
Imphal, Jan 15 (UNI) BJP president Rajnath Singh and senior BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj will be visiting Manipur in the first week of February to campaign for the ninth Assembly elections.
BJP Secretary V Satish, while speaking to mediapersons here today, said the leaders would address public meetings in the state to seek votes.
The BJP, which had four MLAs in the last Assembly, has just one MLA now. Three of the BJP MLAs have gone to other parties.
Mr Satish further said the BJP had announced a list of eight candidates for the elections and another list would be announced on January 19 .
He further said the campaigning this time would be done to oust the Congress from power.
Meanwhile, the election manifesto of National Congress Party (NCP) was released today by party President Radhabinod Koijam at the Imphal party office.
The NCP would be fighting for peace, integrity and empowerment of the youth and women. The NCP has already announced a list of 23 candidates for the elections.
