Solution to naxalism lies in development: Chouhan

Bhopal, Jan 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that the solution to naxalism lay in encouraging development of the affected areas.

''Naxalism is a severe challenge for all the states concerned,'' he told reporters here after 'Manthan 2007', a two-day workshop -- of ministers and officials at the RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management -- aimed at the state's development.

Pointing out that officials in Madhya Pradesh's three extremism-affected districts were directed to spur development, the Chief Minister added that the police were undertaking interrogation with regard to a rebel-linked weapons factory being busted here.
