RPF constables on the run

Itarsi, MP, Jan 14 (UNI) A case has been registered in this Hoshangabad district town against three Railway Protection Force constables who allegedly killed an accused by throwing him out of a moving train.

''Following a directive from District Collector Faiz Ahmad Kidwai, who had ordered a magisterial probe, Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and three other sections were invoked against Raveendra Nath Verma, Ramsagar Chauhan and Pawan Kumar who were posted at Amla and are absconding,'' Government Railway Police Inspector B S Chauhan said today.

Sukhdev Bhikoo of Betul district's Sisria village was taken into custody on May 16, 2006. A dispute ensued while Bhikoo was being taken for a hearing to Bhopal on the Jayanti Janata Express. The personnel thrashed him and threw him off the train. To conceal their crime, the constables apprehended another youth, presented him before a magistrate and secured bail for Rs 500.
