Dreaded criminal arrested in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) A dreaded criminal, involved in about 40 cases of murder and robbery in several states, was arrested from North Delhi.

Rakesh Bawaria alias Bala was arrested yesterday from Timarpur's Sangam Vihar by the sleuths of the crime branch.

Police said Rakesh's gang was operating in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka since 1995.

''The accused and his gang is involved in the murder of 15 people in Tamil Nadu alone,'' police said.

Police recovered a loaded pistol, an iron rod and a scooter were recovered from him.

During interrogation he admitted to being involved in about 40 cases.
