Cong adopting lethargic approach towards ULFA: Joshi
Chennai, Jan 14 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi today alleged that Congress government in Asom was adopting a ''lethargic approach'' towards the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA).
Talking to reporters here, Mr Joshi accused the Congress government in the State of using Bangladeshi infiltrators for 'vote bank politics'.
''Congress has also taken support from ULFA and various other extremist outfits for the same purpose and the result is quite natural,'' he charged.
This resulted in the recent mass killing of migrant Biharis there, he alleged.
''ULFA has let loose a spate of terrorist activities in Asom and was trying to push the Hindus out from there, he said and added ''Congress was just remaining a mute spectator.'' Stating that an American agency had identified Al-Qaeda's base in Pakistan, Mr Joshi said India should force the US to that country as a 'nation promoting terrorism'.
He asked the US to stop providing aid to Pakistan.
