Cold wave in north-eastern MP

Bhopal, Jan 14 (UNI) Bitterly cold conditions are being experienced over the past couple of days in Madhya Pradesh where the mercury dropped to four degrees Celsius in the north-eastern part courtesy a cold wave.

A Regional Meteorological Centre spokesman said that last night's minimum was 4 C at the citadel town Gwalior and the world-renowned tourist destination Khajuraho. The cold wave also affected Rewa division. The weather conditions are likely to intensify in Rewa, Gwalior, Sagar, Ujjain and Chambal divisions over the next 48 hours and the temperature may drop below 4 C.

Most locations recorded temperature three to four notches below the average. In the state capital, the mercury dropped to 8.6 C, two degrees lower than yesterday. Indore was at 5.9 C while Jabalpur recorded 9 C.
