BJP stronger in Uttar Pradesh: Sumitra Mahajan
Jabalpur, Jan 14 (UNI) BJP National Vice-President Sumitra Mahajan today said her party would rope in like-minded parties to form an alliance to contest forthcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
''The situation of the BJP has improved in Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, the Congress has been left behind in the race in the absence of issues,'' Ms Mahajan told UNI here.
She alleged that the dynastic and minority appeasing policies of Congress caused regional parties to gain foothold in Uttar Pradesh resulting in forgetting the aim of development.
Advocating women's reservation in politics, Ms Mahajan said the BJP was the only party that had provided reservation for party office-bearers without which formation of party could not take place.
The BJP leader said all the political parties needed to come together and arrive at a consensus over the women's reservation issue so that a solution could be found.
