Arms smuggling: Prime accused remanded

Kochi, Jan 14 (UNI) The Prime accused in the arms-smuggling case in Kochi was today remanded to judicial custody till January 25.

R O Koya, who surrendered before the customs officials at Thrissur yesterday, was brought here and produced before the Judge of the Economic Offences Court.

He was brought here for further investigation in the case relating to the clandestine import of 49 air guns and 37 air pistols from Dubai through Kochi Port.

The consignment came in the name of Mr Koya. But he went missing after the arms were seized.
