Amar Singh question's Sonia's absence from Muktsar

Muktsar, Jan 14 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) senior leader Amar Singh today questioned Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's 'absence' from Muktsar, while alleging that ''she was playing politics on the death of small children''.

''Why did Mrs Gandhi not come here to meet the families of those children who were brutally murdered'', he asked while talking to mediapersons in company of party MP and cine star Jaya Pradha.

'' If the Congress president could visit Nithari, she can very well come here also'', he said while pointing out that the remains of the dead children were found from a Congress leaders rice mill.

Keeping his promise made a few days back, Mr Amar Singh came here and went to the houses of each of the five Bawaria families whose children aged between nine and 13 years had been kidnapped and then brutally murdered. The two SP leaders distributed cheques of Rs one lakh to each of the agrieved families.

The dead bodies of the five children were discovered in a abandoned rice sheller owned by former Faridkot Congress MP Jagmeet Singh Brar.

The police has arrested a migrant labourer identified as Mukesh Kumar in connection with the murders.
