Spread awareness of HR education: NHRC

Hyderabad, Jan 13: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) memberJustice Y Bhaskar Rao appealed to intellegentia and law universititesto spread awareness of Human Rights (HR) among the people and transformthe HR education in the society.

Inaugurating a one day regional conference to formulate a uniformcurriculum for the PG courses in HR, Mr Rao yesterday said the HReducation should lay emphasis on field study, besides conductingworkshops and seminars in the colleges. University Grant Commission(UGC) promised to endorse the PG course in HR education afterfinalizing the syllabus.

Eminent social scientist Hara Gopal emphasised the deep study to understand the patterns of HR violations in the society.

Around 40 delegates from four states, advocates and human rights activists were also present in the conference.
