Security tightened at Unokuti and Tirthmukh

Agartala, Jan 13 (UNI) Elaborate security arrangements have been made at Unokuti and Tirthmukh in Tripura's North and South districts in view of the two-day long Makarsankranti Utsav beginning today.

Police said security had been beefed up at both Unokuti and Tirthmukh to foil any kind of untoward incident by the underground forces. A large number of people have congregated at these places for the Makar Sankranti utsav.

People have started trickling in both the areas to take a holy dip at SitaKund at Unokuti under Kailashahar sub-division and at Tirthmukh under Amarpur subdivision in North and South districts respectively early tomorrow morning.

The state government has arranged various cultural programmes throughout the night and opened various stalls for the pilgrimages where fair has been organised.
