Search on for missing cargo vessel

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 13 (UNI) Search operations began today for a missing cargo vessel with 11 crew on board.

The vessel was expected to return to Vizhinjam harbour here on January 9 after unloading cargo in the Maldives.

According to sources, the cargo vessel ''MSV Land of Canal'' set out from Mali on January 7 and was expected to reach here within two days.

The ship's crew included one from Kerala and ten others from Tuticorin.

The Coast Guard have began search operations, the Navy's service would also be sought, the sources added.
