Missing cargo vessel traced

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 13 (UNI) A cargo vessel, ''MSV Land of Canal'', with an 11 member crew on board that was reported missing on its way to Vizhinjam harbour from Maldives, was located by the Coast Guard in the Arabian sea this evening.

The sources said all the crew members were safe.

The vessel ''MSV Land of Canal,'' which was stranded due to rough weather, would be brought to the shore by midnight tonight, sources said.

The vessel was expected to return to Vizhinjam harbour on January nine after unloading the cargo in Maldives. It set out from Mali on January seven.

The Coast Guard had launched the search operation after the vessel failed to establish any contact with the port even four days after its expected arrival date.
