Mercury drops in MP
Bhopal, Jan 13 (UNI) The Mercury dropped by two to three notches in Madhya Pradesh due to cold northern winds with the citadel town Gwalior recording night temperature of four degrees Celsius.
A Regional Meteorological Centre official said western disturbances from Jammu and Kashmir had prevented the mercury from falling severely but it was likely to dip more after it moved.
A temperature of six degrees C was registered both in Shivpuri and Guna, while world-renowned tourist destination Khajuraho recorded seven degrees C.
Corresponding figure at other places were Indore (8 deg), Ujjain (8), Satna (9), Sagar (9), Pachmarhi (9), Raisen (9), Narsinghpur (11), Hoshangabad (12), Mandla (12) and Jabalpur (12).
A maximum of 20 deg C, six notches below normal, was recorded in the state capital, while minimum temperature was 9.7 deg C.
