Jalandhar still coldest

Jalandhar, Jan 13 (UNI) Cold wave sweeping most parts of Punjab continued unabated during the past 24 hours even as Adampur airport recorded minimum temperature of minus 1.6 degree Celsius this morning.

An official spokesman quoting Air Force Met Centre data, said that this district here was most hit by the cold wave and the mercury has been below the freezing point at the Adampur airport for past several days.

The temperature was also hovering around freezing point in nearby Amritsar city which recorded minimum temperature of 0.4 degree Celsius today.

Pathankot also reeled under 2.6 degree while Ludhiana (Halwara airport) recorded 3.4 degree, the spokesman added.
