India's first model salt farm in Nawan

Jaipur, Jan 13 (UNI) India's first model salt farm has come up in Nawan, one of the main salt-producing regions in Nagaur district.

The salt farm spread over 10 acres has come up at a cost of Rs 35 lakh and would help salt producers in the region to better the quality of salt for domestic and industrial purpose.

The salt farm was inauguarted yesterday. Salt Commissioner S Sundersen, who was present on the occasion said five more model salt farms would come up in different salt producing areas of the country. The project would cost Rs 1.15 crore.

He said a survey of salt labourers is being carried on, after which they would be provided identity cards.
