HC permits vehicle entry in Ranthambhore until further orders

Jaipur, Jan 13 (UNI) The Rajasthan High Court has permitted tourist vehicles to ply inside the Ranthambhore national park until further orders.

Justice Gyansudha Mishra and Justice Vineet Kothari gave the orders yesterday after hearing the applications filed by the state government, seeking permission to ease the ban of entry of vehicles.

A single-judge bench of HC, had on September 8, had banned the entry of all vehicles except government vehicles. The state government had filed an application before the bench.

After hearing the appeal, the bench had allowed the entry of vehicles till January 15.

The state government again filed an application seeking easing of ban as the time limit of January 15 would have expired this Monday.

The bench also directed the government to ensure adequate protection for wildlife in the park.
