Don't renew iron ore export agreement: Chhattisgarh govt
New Delhi, Jan 13 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh government has requested the Steel Ministry and the Andhra Pradesh-based National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) not to renew the existing iron ore export agreements or enter into any fresh export agreements.
According to official sources, the state government in a letter urged the Ministry and the NMDC to maintain the agreements till the raw material requirment of the state's industry were fully met by the NMDC.
The state government had requested the Andhra Pradesh-based corporation to allocatie two million tonnes (MT) of iron ore from Bailadila sector to the Chhattisgarh-based plants during 2006-07.
