Book on art, poetry by Ilaa Dev Pal released

Kolkata, 13 Jan (UNI) Eminent artist Shuvaprassana released a book 'Returning -An Indian Odyssey' by Ilaa Dev Pal at a city book store today.

''The book is a rare combination of art and peotry. Through words and images, the author had captured the ethos of today's rural and urban India and the tenor of times,'' art critic Manasij Mazumder, who was present in the ocassion, said here.

Pandit Kichlu was also present on the ocassion.

Ms Dev Pal, the recepient of various international awards, said, ''The book is both a travel diary and my search for the soul of India through colour and ink.'' Anuradha Pal, an acclaimed tabla maestro, performed a short composition to celebrate the book launch.

The evening saw a rare and eclectic fusion of art, peotry and music with performance of Anuradha and reading by the author .
