BJP says will fight Assembly polls on its own

Jaunpur, Jan 13: BJP has reiterated that it would fight the forthcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Talking to mediapersons here last evening, BJP state unitpresident Keshari Nath Tripathi said there is no doubt that party wouldcontest Vidhan Sabha polls on its own, but would like to ponder overhaving a coalition only if some parties of the National DemocraticAlliance (NDA) come forward for talks.

''People have seen the misrule of the Samajwadi Party (SP)-ledUttar Pradesh government. Over the years, the number of hunger deathsand criminal activities has increased. At present, BJP is the rightchoice and party's success in the local bodies polls proves it,'' MrTripathi added.

Hitting out at the Mulayam Singh Yadav government, he maintainedthere is an urgent need for implementing President's rule in UP as onecannot expect free and fair polls under the reign of the presentgovernment.
