ATSUM relaxes blockade for two day

Imphal, Jan 12 (UNI) The All Tribal Students Union of Manipur in response to an appeal by the All Manipur Transport and Motor Workers Union has relaxed the economic blockade on the two national highways for two days.

Ch Apam, education secretary, ATSUM, said the vehicles stranded at Manipur-Nagaland border areas were asked to proceed towards Imphal yesterday and several trucks, including oil tankers and LPG carriers, came till late night.

No vehicle was, however, allowed to go out of the state.

The drivers union had appealed to the tribal students to relax the blockade so that the drivers could participate in Drivers' Day observation tomorrow.
