AP lecturer killed in road accident

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 13 (UNI) A 42-year-old lecturer Kakani Prabhakara Rao was killed and four of his family members were seriously injured when an RTC bus collided with their vehicle on Chennai-Kolkata National Highway at Vatlur village today.

Police said the mishap occurred when they were travelling to Machilipatnam from here, while an RTC bus proceeding to Visakhapatnam from Vijayawada collided with the car at Vatluru.

The injured were rushed to the Eluru Government Hospital, where Mr Rao, who hailed from Khammam District, succumbed to his injuries.

Mr Rao's wife, daughter, brother-in-law and his son were undergoing treatment in the hospital.

A case has been registered and an investigation was underway, police added.
