AP Govt committed to development: APCC

Hyderabad, Jan 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was committed to the welfare of the state and allocated sufficient funds to the uplift of the poor.

Speaking to newsmen here, APCC Spokesperson N Tulasi Reddy said the state govenrment had allocated Rs 1,553 crore for social welfare as against Rs 807 crore alloted during 2003-04 in the previous TDP Government.

Stating Dr Reddy's government distributed Rs 28,865 crore to the farmers as institutional credit in the three year rule, he pointed out the previous TDP Government allocated Rs 38,000 crore in its nine year regime.

Alleging the TDP leaders were making false statements on the performance of the Congress Government, Mr Reddy urged the TDP leaders to make factual statments after studying the performance of the government and avoid the politicisation of the state's development taking place on rapid pace.
